Abstract
Construction of equipment, methods and results of researches on mechanical and technological properties of feed grain are given. As a result of studies found that the geometric parameters of individual grains of cereal forages vary within wide boundaries. The greatest length of the grain has oat, wheat is smallest, the largest width of the grain has pea, the smallest in oats. Grain material except peas and corn, have a form close to an ellipsoid of revolution or a cylinder. Their depth is almost equal to the width and length is almost twice bigger than the thickness. The biggest shear stresses occur when cutting corn. The smallest tangential stresses are for a single seed of peas and equal to 1, 18•106 N / m2.
