Assessment of the reliability of universal joints on the basis of analytical models of thermal stresses
Abstract
Based on the analysis of existing studies and publications in the field of reliability of cardan gear set, that the existing methods and technical means do not give a reliable estimate of the technical condition of u-joints in transmissions of transport and technological machines. It is shown that the estimation of influence of constructive, technological and operational factors on the reliability of the cardan gear is based on a lack of modern technologies of diagnostics, it is therefore
proposed to specify the criterion of failure of universal joints according to the parameters of thermal stress. The work extended and developed the hypothesis that the use of measurements of the calorific intensity of the u-joints to assess their technical condition. The model of thermal stress of the surface layer to the working surfaces of the bearing assemblies universal joints. The necessity of a systemic approach to assess the reliability of universal joints on the parameters of the thermal stress in operation.
